AudioPig Privacy Policy

AudioPig ("the app") is a local audiobook player for iOS. We respect your privacy. This policy explains what information the app handles on your device.

Summary

AudioPig does not collect, transmit, or sell your personal data. Your audiobooks, bookmarks, listening stats, and settings stay on your iPhone unless you choose to export or share content yourself.

Information stored on your device

The app stores the following locally on your device only:

• Audiobook files you import (copied into the app's container or referenced as you direct)
• Library metadata (titles, authors, cover art, playback position, chapters)
• Bookmarks and folder organization
• Generated subtitle text and timing cues (if you use subtitles)
• Listening statistics (total time, finished books) if you enable tracking in Settings
• App preferences (playback speed, skip intervals, appearance, sleep timer state) in UserDefaults

Information we do not collect

• No account registration or login
• No analytics or advertising identifiers
• No tracking across apps or websites
• No upload of your audio files or metadata to our servers (we operate no servers for this app)

Permissions

• Files: You choose audio files to import via the system file picker.
• Photo Library: Used only when you choose to set cover art from your photos.
• Camera: Used only when you choose to capture cover art with the camera in Edit Details.
• Speech Recognition: Used only when you generate subtitles. Audio is transcribed on your device using Apple’s on-device speech models; we do not receive or store your audio on any server.
• Background audio: Allows playback when the screen is off or another app is in use.

Sharing

When you use system share features (for example, exporting bookmarks), content is sent only to the destination you select. We do not receive that data.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

In-App Purchases

Optional subscriptions (AudioPig Plus) and voluntary tips (Feed a Student) are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment card details. Apple may share limited purchase metadata with developers per Apple's policies; AudioPig does not operate a separate billing server.

Changes

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
